What is Scrip? Scrip is a term which means “substitute money”. In the Scrip program, Scrip is a real and negotiable gift certificate from many local and national businesses.
How Does Scrip Work? The businesses receive “cash up front” for the certificates. Our parish is able to purchase the discounted certificates and then sell them to parishioners at face value. The discount of the certificate is the profit which our parish receives. The discount becomes an ongoing revenue for Sacred Heart Parish.
How Do Parishioners Buy Scrip? Scrip can be purchased before and after all Masses. Scrip can be purchased in the school office during school hours and at the parish office when school is not in session. You can complete the scrip order form and send it to school with your child along with a check for the total amount.
Scrip amounts can be ordered in excess of the amounts shown by contacting Edna Burns at 461-2129. Scrip orders are entered Sunday evenings and are usually available by Wednesday. If you are looking for other businesses that have scrip available go to www.glscrip.com for a more complete list.
